Etna

Mount Etna is Sicily’s highest peak (3.340 mt) and Europe‘s most active vulcano. The northern side of Mount Etna can be visited from Linguaglossa; its southern landscape, though, is lunar and more dramatic. The Circumetnea Railway circles the towns at the mountains’ foothills – The stretch from Giarre to Bronte is the most scenic. On the southern side, a cableway service reaches an altitude of 2.500 metres, a starting point for excursions (up to 3.000 metres) and ski tracks. You can find the best trekking routes and maps on our web site. Try the unique experience of an excursion on donkey back! Starting point in Piano Provenzana. http://www.etnadonkeytrekking.com/ Etna’s volcanic soil is unique to the production of special wines.
