Erice village
Absolutely charming, mediaeval Erice lies on an anvil-shaped hill (Monte Erice). A funivia (cable car) connects Trapani to Erice. Erice is often shrouded in fog. The fog only enhances Erice’s magic as you walk its ancient cobblestone streets and alleyways. Erice is famous all over Sicily for its pastries, for its handmade carpets (il tappeto ericino), and for local ceramics (la ceramica ericina).
