Trapani city
Trapani is a thousand-years old city that unfortunately preserves only minor vestiges of its glorious past. The special conformation of the city, a strip wedging into the sea, gave Trapani the nickname of "the city between two seas". The strip of land is a fishermen's suburb and is absolutetly fascinating. A little distance from the city, the famous saltpans, are a romantic spot at sunset - and a WWF protected site. Trapani is also a starting point for ferries to the Egadi islands: Levanzo, Marettimo and Favignana.
